2s Finally Hit Their Stride

1933

Old Colfeians 2XV enjoyed a trip across South London for our first return fixture of the season against Kings College Hospital. Having lost the home leg the 2s put in a great performance to win by a stunning 64-17. Despite some good performances from a side that has featured a number of players making their first steps in senior rugby this year, this was the first time the 2s got the result their play has deserved.

Tries came from all over the pitch starting, with some Maradona-esque juggling from Kilian to put Tyreece through. An outstanding game from our outside centre saw him bag 3 tries before generously handing a potential fourth off to Freddie Oliver to score after some lovely interplay. Rumours that the winger was heard begging for the ball so he could score his first try of the season have not been confirmed or denied. Leon “the sniper” Atkins shot off the line to intercept a loose ball and score in the first half also.

Debut senior tries for David and AJ were celebrated, with the latter coming from a good kick and take despite the “puddly” [technical rugby term] conditions on the pitch.

Outside attack the 2 also boasted a good defence that worked hard, managing to win the ball back countless times in order to set up our platform for attacking rugby.
