Today we had a long trip to Broadstairs to play against the Channel Barbarians.
We played three x 15 min thirds, and lent two of our girls to the opposition, changing them every 10 mins. A big thank you to the girls for doing this and for playing some great rugby against their own team!
We started with a big carry from Amy from kick-off, hands through the backs out to Prosper who scored within the first minute.

Another great catch from kick-off, with a lovely run from Mouch, but 5m out knocked it on. The Crimsons kept the Ba-bas in their 22 and managed to turn it over.
With some slick hands again, across to Maria who was tackled just 5m out. A pick up from dummy half from Natalie who ran it in to score.

Another kick-off to us, caught by Mouch who headed down runs through a few tackles, offloaded to Lara who ran it in to 5m out and knocked it on.
After a line out and a few scrums, we finally got some lovely movement of the ball from Lara to Marianna and out to Maria, who, with some good footwork, beat two defenders and offloaded to Becca who put her head down to score.

2nd 15mins
The 2nd 15 minutes started with some clinical movement of the ball, and running into the Ba-bas half but a knock-on from Maria gives them a scrum.
The Ba Bas then scored in the corner after a dummy before a pass-out wide and a sprint down the wing.

The home team played a few phases before a great turnover from Lara at the breakdown and a pass to Prosper who has a great run in but, with some great scramble defence from the Ba-bas, didn’t manage to get it down.
The Crimsons turned over the ball again and with an in-and-out from Natalie, a score under the posts. Natalie then also added the extra points.

A big kick from the home team saw the Crimsons camped in their own 22 for a number of phases. This ended in an excellent run in from Lara from our own 10m and all the way under the posts to score. Converted by Natalie.

After a big carry from Iona off at the kick-off, two quick passes were made out to Maria who broke through two tackles and scored in the corner.

Lovely catch from kick-off and straight into a line break from Amy who offloaded to Becca. An out-the-back pass from Becca to Maria who gave the ball to Marianna to score.

Another great break from kick off from Amy, with an offload to Mouch who knocked it on over the line (again)!
Making up for her previous mistake, a fantastic turnover by Mouch led to a 30m run in score under the posts.

With yet another kick off into Amy’s arms, she break with a wonderful 25m run and an offload to Becca who beat 4 defenders to score.
